Pink and fuschia lotuses bloom over the dark green waters of the village of Candidasa’s main attraction. Open to the public, easily accessible from the road, the lagoon is worth checking out for a few quick but pretty photographs. There is a garden at the center of the pool.  There is an 11th century shrine looking over the lagoon. It is dedicated to the goddess of fertility, and childless couples frequently come here seeking blessings for a successful pregnancy. The views of the lagoon and the sea are also better from the shrine. If you can schedule it correctly, the best time to visit the lagoon is during sunset.

  • Have to go in morning before 10am otherwise it is a waste of time as all the flowers are closed. Very pretty in the early morning - walked up to the temple opposite - view was ok but would not rave about it.

  • Perfect ambience. Open restaurant. You can just dine beside the quite traffic and enjoy the band or solo performance depending on the day. The best thing for Indians they do have some good Indian chicken delicacies here. They also have strong wi fi..

  • Beautiful view... It’s free because it’s on the side of the road. There is not much to be done here. You can walk around, watch people fishing at the lagoon, or ride a boat with extra fee.

  • Its open 24 hours but the lillies are only open at night until about 10 or 11AM. Very nice restaurants close by to have breakfast and look at the flowers Only trouble, they are not lotus. Only lillies. But still, very beautiful

  • Great place. The best view in the morning when all flowers open.
