Tennoji Park, Osaka Reviews
Japanese zoos have a poor reputation. Sadly this one while better than Tobu zoo, this zoo still feels a bit depressing in places. The petting zoo section is well come and welcoming but there is far too much bare concrete for me to feel comfortable about the animals living condition. Still I think this is one of the better zoos in Japan. Only Ueno zoo might beat it.
The Tennoji Zoo is another location that is free if you are using the Osaka Amazing Pass. I must say that the Singapore Mandai Zoo is much better! Although this Zoo isn’t very big, it does have the key features to keep children excited! The Savannah area with the lion and giraffe, the polar bear and the penguins! There are also seals! Last but not least, the friendly petting zoo! You can also buy some feed for the sheep and the goats there!
This Zoo reminded me of Melbourne Zoo 20 years ago. Many enclosures are ultra small and you can see some animals are stressed in these enclosures. They are trying to improve and some animals have very good areas. Hopefully they can adopt some principals of modern zoo keeping.
loved it. Lots of animals. Great animal views. truly enjoyed it.
It's an alright neighborhood zoo. Sadly, their elephant passed away in 01/2018. It's decent considering the location, but there are zoos with more fauna in the region
