Tennoji Park, Osaka Reviews - Write a Review

  • Really nice zoo, great fun for kids, all the typical zoo animals plus a petting and feeding area with farm animals. Highly recommended weekend activity.

  • They have a lot of different animals. Small enclosures but that's normal for the age of the zoo. It was a fun excursion. I would definitely go again

  • Never witnessed animal cruelty like this. Kept in such small places with rubbish surroundings. The poor bear and polar bear look like they have mental problems because of it. Disgusting zoo

  • More than anything else I was impressed by the dedication of the staff and management of the zoo. It seemed as if they were determined to showcase the animals and their zoo the best they could. I've been to some terrible zoos (think south America) with cramped, dirty enclosures and disinterested staff, but there was none of that here. The zoo is obviously working within a budget however it's clean, the animals seem engaged & the staff are enthusiastic, whether it's conducting a show or entertaining kids. It should also be said also that the cost of entry is just Y500 yen - super reasonable.

  • This zoo is very unique as it lies in the middle of Osaka. Towards its periphery you can see roads and buildings. Zoo in town concept. The security is very good. Just imagine if a lion escapes to town! Some of the exhibits are placed underground. The animals are well fed, in fact some are obese. Most animals are very clean. The hippo is in clear water. There is a section where you can see it under-water. The big cats are very clean indeed. You can see this zoo from Tsutenkaku Tower. The avian section is closed. In front of the zoo is Shinsekai shopping area.
