Pao De Acucar - Review
This peak located at the mouth of the Guanabara Bay is another popular destination in the city of Rio. The peak is largely conical in shape and goes by the popular name of Sugarloaf Mountain. The name is said to have originated in the 16th century when sugarcane cultivation was a booming industry in the country.
The shape of the mountain is said to closely resemble a slab of loaf sugar, hence the name. The interesting point about this peak is that it is more commonly associated to a vantage point more than a national historical location like the nearby Corcovado peak. It is certainly a good idea to take advantage of the Birdseye view from the top. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Rio De Janeiro Itinerary 5 Days.

Pao De Acucar, Rio De Janeiro Reviews
Love it. Remembering James Bond villain Jaws chewing on the cable and there is monkeys on the peak to see. What a view. See aircraft landing at the Santos Dumont Airport - from above! Take a helicopter tour around the place and enjoy the scenic views. Iconic piece of Rio. Even though it is a cable car it felt very safe and smooth. No hesitation in suggesting that you give it a go to anyone who has issues with heights, if you're worried just stay in the middle of the car and it will feel like you are in a big room
Wonderful spot - great views even when it was a little overcast. There are two cable car trips up this mountain FYI: A James Bond Scene was once filmed here in the 70s (Moonraker). A must see when in Rio. Felt quite safe at all times.
Amazing view, especially during the sunset. So beautiful and exciting. Loved it and will totally do it again. Totally worth the money for me.
This is a great attraction. The cable car takes you up to the first summit which is really well fitted out to take pictures, to party, take a rest... You can find multiple shops and cafés, even a night club that was really bustling for the world cup ! The cable car then takes you to the second summit, where we spent most of our time, waiting for the sunset. The view of Rio is incredible, by night, you can take amazing pictures. There is also a restaurant at the top that offers you a great view on the ocean and Copacabana beach, we didn't tried it because of its high priced position. But you can enjoy a Caipirinha in the bar, watching the view on Rio de Janeiro ! Besides, the cable car service is very good, be careful to bring original documents with you, it will be asked to get a ticket. The cable car has convenient timetable that allows you to get here at anytime and stay for a bit of the night (which begin early here).
Like visiting the Christ the Redeemer statue, this is one of those must-do things when you are visiting Rio. The cable car will take you to two different peaks, the second (and higher) of which is Sugar Loaf Mountain. Both give you fantastic views of the city. The ticket isn't cheap, but you've come all this way, so just go for it.
